Windsor Court Hotel
New Orleans, LA
Please join the Socrates Program and the New Orleans Business Alliance for a New Orleans Salon Reception on Thursday, October 11, 2018. The reception panel will be moderated by Connie Yowell, the visionary and CEO of LRNG by Collective Shift. Prior to LRNG, Yowell was Director of Education at the MacArthur Foundation where she oversaw a $150 million program on Digital Media and Learning. The panel conversation will focus on developments, opportunities, and challenges in New Orleans as technology and innovation intersect with the city’s legacy industries.
The world is changing dramatically – from the way we communicate to the way we work, learn and engage as citizens – and employment is changing dramatically as a result of new technologies. What are the major trends in technology that will continue to shape the way we work and learn? How do we ensure that these emerging trends create opportunity for all our citizens and not just a few? How does the rise of technology provide new opportunities and challenges for New Orleans industries and workers? In what ways has New Orleans reinvented itself to welcome entrepreneurship and innovation, while staying true to its history, culture and people by providing its residents with the tools to reinvent themselves work-wise?
The reception will begin at 7:00 pm and the panel conversation will begin at 8:00 pm.
